Champadevi (2,278) is a spectacular Hill destination situated in the south-west fringe of the Kathmandu Valley. A pilgrimage locus for both Hindu and Buddhist devotees, this crusade pledges you with the magnificent landscape, mountain scenes, and all-inclusive view of the Kathmandu valley. The easiest ascent route to Champadevi begins from the north of Pharping (45 minutes drive from Thamel), about half an hour walking through the pine forest on the stone paved path, you reach Hattiban Resort. From the resort, a well-trodden track leads northwest up and down through pine forest, along the grassy ridge top to the Buddhist stupa and Hindu shrine Champadevi, it takes 2 and half hours. It is the best place for the superb view of Langtang, Gauri Shankar, Jugal, Dorje Lakpa, and others. Then you continue climbing stairs to reach the Bhasmasur hill which is about one and half hours walk from Champadevi. After observing the best view from the top, you continue climbing to reach the main destination of hiking; Chandagiri – a pilgrims of Hindus. Having lunch and exploring the views of Kathmandu valley with surrounding high mountains, then you will be taken down to Thankot by Cable Car and drive to Thamel by car. It is about 6 hours walking and 2 hours driving.
