  • Great trekking to Annapurna base camp

The people of Nepal gateway were very welcoming from the very beginning by picking us up in the airport. They were very open and friendly providing information not only about our planned trek but also in general about Nepal. In our case, we did not have much time to plan and book stuff. They surprised us with the hotels they booked for us. The trekking plan was perfect, neither too demanding nor too easy. They took us through nice trails, we even got lucky too see a couple of white monkeys jump behind us. They adviced on the good spots and times to get up for sunrise photos. They also provided alternatives in case we wanted to stay longer at a spot or do in a different way. They were there when needed and also gave us our space to explore alone. For the way down, they planned a great stay next to a hot spring. This felt really good after all the hard work. All together, it was an amazing adventure and we shared a lot of these moments with the people of Nepal gateway. We will definitely get in touch with them in our next visit to Nepal.

  • Trip of a lifetime

I organized my trekking with Nepal gateway trekking after reading some good reviews online. I emailed them what I was interested in doing and they put together a suitable itinerary. I communicated mainly with Raj. They organized everything I needed - guide/porter and flight tickets so that I could do Everest base camp via Gokyo lakes. The guide was excellent (Nir Kumar). Everything was organized very well. I found them to be very trustworthy, and they communicated very well. Highly recommended!

  • Trekking to Anapurna Base Camp -12 days

Had a wonderful time at ABC with Ram as a trekking guide. In the beginning, we met Rajendra who helped us on the way and introduced Kathmandu. We enjoyed every moment and we experienced it was fun together and safer. Because of tiredness I almost fell and Ram held me down. I also had some knee troubles which he helped me with.
We enjoyed Nepal to the max and had nothing to worried about thanks too Rajendra and Ram!

  • A Trip to Cherish. Wonderful.

I have just returned from 6 fantastic weeks in Nepal, and owe a huge thank you to Raj at NepalGatewayTrekking for helping to make it such a wonderful trip. Traveling alone, I had a quite challenging itinerary which included the Everest 3 Passes Trek, Hiking around Annapurna, a visit to Chitwan National Park, and a bit of adventure at the Last Resort, and a few rest days around Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Raj organized all of my accommodation and transport. He ensured I had guides whenever I needed them. He answered all of my questions (and there were many) with the utmost professionalism and spared no effort at all in making sure I always had the right information to be where I needed to be - which is no mean feat considering the remoteness of parts of Nepal.

On a couple of spare days towards the end of my trip, I also got to know Raj a little more on a personal level on a trek with him and his family. This was a real privilege and a memory that I will truly treasure.

I will be returning to Nepal as soon as I get the chance as there are so many things I would still like to see and do, and I will no doubt be asking Raj and his team for assistance when the time comes.
    until then - Peri bhetaula.

  • At the age of 78, trek to Everest base camp

After having two new knees in 2007, my friend Jo and I decided to hire Raj of Nepal Gateway Trekking to take us first on a trek to Ghorepani  Poon Hill which we successfully completed in 2010, and then the next year we trekked to EBC.  Raj was the perfect guide and saw to all our needs, even supplying hot water bottles for our sleeping bags!!! It was a fantastic trek, and the tea houses were very comfortable, food good, but unfortunately, I lost my appetite, which lots of climbers do, due to altitude. I was 68 and Raj was very proud I completed the Everest Base Camp trek. After this, we spent 3 nights in Chitwan National Park which is thoroughly recommended. To say this was the end of my trekking would be a lie, as I completed 3 more treks with Raj, one to Gokyo Lakes, and the other two again to Mt. Everest Base Camp, although the last one, at the age of 78 got too much for me and I called it a day at Dingboche and my son carried on and finished the trek. Raj and my son, Paul, collected me on the way back down.
I thoroughly recommend Nepal Gateway Trekking for an enjoyable and safe trek.

  • Annapurna Circuit Trek with Nepal Getaway Trekking

My siblings and I after some research decided to go for Annapurna Circuit Trek with a Nepal getaway. It has been one of the most memorable experiences. We were provided with a very experienced guide Mr. Dinesh Godar so even during unusual snowy conditions we were able to reach till Yak Kharka.. they ensured our hike was safe and we had one of the most memorable experiences.

  • Fantastic trekking experience

We had a fantastic trek on the Manaslu Circuit with Nepal Gateway Trekking. The company was very accommodating since we booked the trek while we were already on the road backpacking which made it difficult to send the deposit but they were very understanding. We were met at the airport and brought to our hotel and given a thorough briefing of what to expect on the trek while our permits were taken care of for us. We felt very well taken care of before we'd even started the trek. We had Ram as our guide and he was great - had lots of interesting things to tell us and so much experience on the trek (and all the others!). He knew the teahouses well (which ones had the best food in each village!) and tailored the trek as we went according to how energetic we were each day. He also knows some great evening card games!

The trek itself is spectacularly scenic. We didn't find it overly taxing - it's just the altitude that becomes a factor as you get higher. We purposely had our longer days in the beginning so we could have shorter ones as the going got slower. We hiked in September 2018 and had great weather and no crowds - it was a great time to do the trek. We had a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nepal Gateway Trekking and Ram - you'll be glad you did!

  • Thank you for the most special journey of my life!

    Chomolungma (Mt. Everest, Sagarmatha)
Kia Ora Goddess, Mother of Planet Earth
60 years I dreamed of you
First to climb like Tenzing and Hillary
Now to gaze in awe at you,
    Majestic, Supreme, Glorious
Flanked by courtiers Lhotse, Nuptse, Lola
    You kiss the sky
I bow my head in gratitude, Kia Ora

Thank you, Raj, Ram, and especially my guide/porter/friend Dinesh for helping me fulfill my dream of climbing Kala Pattar and getting up close to mighty Chomolungma.
You took the utmost care to make my trip special, a vivid, wonderful memory for the rest of my life. I will always remember exiting the Khatmandu Airport terminal and seeing Dinesh’s smile of welcome and placard with my name. The Moonlight Hotel was a perfect choice for my night in Thamel. Raj provided wise counsel regarding the current Lukla weather, the challenges of flying, and the helicopter alternative. When I got the word at the airport that Lukla was fogged in I quickly found 4 others to share a chopper. Raj and Ram later provided documentation to support my successful insurance claim with Nomad Insurance.

Every day on the trail was a delight and my warm-hearted companion Dinesh answered all my questions about the surrounding mountains and local culture. All the guest house accommodation was spectacular with highlights being the Green Tara in Namche and the New EBC Guesthouse in Lobuche. After every nutritious dinner, I received a special dessert plate of sliced apple and pomegranate! I like to hike at a steady clip and Dinesh was always just behind like a ninja warrior! My excitement reached a feverish pitch when we arrived at Gorak Shep at 9.30 am after 7 days on the trail. We enjoyed a light brunch of soup and rice and then began the ascent of Kala Pattar. I wanted to run upwards in my haste to see Chomolongma but oxygen depletion and good sense prevailed. I maintained a steady pace and after 30 minutes I was rewarded with my first unimpeded view of the Goddess in all her unsurpassable glory. We paused breathlessly gazing at her magnificence. After another 30 minutes, we were sitting on Kala Pattar's narrow, prayer-flag bedecked, summit. Chomolungma revealed all from lofty summit to glacier foundation. Words like rapture, ecstacy, relief, gratitude, wonder, and awe were insufficient. I sat silently in the warm sun as tears of emotion gently filled my eyes. I read my ode to Chomolongma while Dinesh made a video with my smartphone. It is now two months later and I still struggle to describe the emotions I experienced in the presence and under the watchful eye of Chomolungma, Goddess Mother of Planet Earth.
Kia Ora Dinesh, Ram, and Raj…thank you for the most special journey of my life!
